Gloria Gao

 Hi! I’m Gloria and I’m the Co-Founder, President, and Social Media Manager of the Avian Society. I started this club with Weston and Catherine in Spring 2024 with the intention of building a welcoming community for bird lovers and raising awareness of bird conservation issues on campus. In my free time, I like going to farmers markets and art galleries, cooking plant-based food, and just being in nature. You can reach me at gaoge@unc.edu & hope to see you at our events!

Hello! My name is Evan and I'm a sophomore majoring in chemistry. I joined the club in Fall 2024 without knowing anything and quickly became fascinated with all that I could learn about birding. Shannon Parks

I'm Shannon Parks, treasurer of the Avian Society! I joined the club in Fall 2024 with no prior birding experience and was immediately captivated by our bird walks, outings, and service projects. Outside of the Avian Society, I enjoy visiting the beach, exploring vintage markets, and going to concerts. I look forward to helping this club accomplish our many goals for the future!
